The purpose is to understand the planning problems faced by people who expect to move a dog or cat between countries, analyse aggregate reactions to hypothetical service concepts, and decide whether—and what—to build. This is UK-focused, voluntary customer research, not a live travel, booking, or compliance service.

02

What we collect

  • Your expected travel timing, origin and destination countries, and whether a dog, cat, or both are travelling.
  • How you plan to manage the move, which listed actions you have already taken, and any optional text you enter if you select Other for actions already taken.
  • Which hypothetical service ideas, if any, you optionally select: paid or free step-by-step DIY guidance, a marketplace to compare and book pet relocation companies, and any optional text you enter under the concept question's Other choice.
  • What feels hardest or most uncertain about arranging the journey.
  • Your optional permission for one research-conversation invitation and, only if you choose to provide it, your email address.
  • Submission time and minimal records needed to answer a privacy request or complaint.

Website and Form providers may also process technical data such as IP address, requested page or URL, referrer, date and time, browser or device details, and security signals.

If you allow optional website analytics, the Google tag may also process a pseudonymous browser or device identifier, page URL and title, referrer and traffic source, date and time, browser, device, operating system, language, approximate region, and the approved page_view, preview_visible, survey_cta_view, and survey_cta_click events. Event details are limited to the displayed preview variant, reduced-motion status, or survey-link location. If you separately allow Google Ads measurement, Google may also process ad-click identifiers such as GCLID and related campaign parameters to attribute a survey-link click to an ad click.

Optional measurement does not receive your Form answers, email address, research-contact permission, or proof that you submitted the Google Form. A survey-link click is not recorded or described as a survey response or lead.

Why we use it

PurposeLawful basis
Analyse planning problems and aggregate reactions to hypothetical service concepts, administer responses, and keep minimal retention records.Legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) of the EU GDPR and, where applicable, UK GDPR.
Answer applicable data-protection rights requests and complaints, and document their handling.Legal obligation under Article 6(1)(c) of the EU GDPR and, where applicable, UK GDPR.
Send one optional invitation within 30 days for a short research conversation.Your separate consent under Article 6(1)(a). Leaving it blank means no. This is not consent to product marketing.
Deliver and protect the website and Form.Legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f), including strictly necessary security processing.
Optional website analytics to understand page use, preview exposure, and funnel drop-off.Your separate measurement consent under Article 6(1)(a). Declining does not affect the page or Form.
Optional Google Ads measurement to attribute a survey-link click to an ad click.Your separate measurement consent under Article 6(1)(a). This is not consent to personalised advertising.

Participation is voluntary. Google Forms requires answers to seven research questions to submit the Form. The actions question is required, but choosing its Other write-in is optional. The multi-select concept question, including its separate Other write-in, research-contact permission, and email questions are optional. We do not sell personal data, profile you, use it for unrelated marketing, or make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. The hypothetical concept selections are used for customer research only, not to make a sales or marketing contact, refer you to a provider, determine eligibility, or create a purchase, reservation, payment, or obligation. Completing the survey does not provide a reward, product, advice, or guaranteed outcome.

04

Who processes it

  • Google Workspace services, including Forms, Sheets, and Gmail, for survey responses and optional contact.
  • OpenAI and its authorised hosting subprocessors for this research website.
  • Google Analytics for optional website-use measurement, only after the corresponding choice.
  • Google Ads for optional survey-link attribution, only after the corresponding choice.
  • Jungho (“Ray”) Lim, with access limited to operating and analysing this research.

We do not give identifiable survey responses to pet-travel providers during OM-01. Any future provider-referral or lead-sharing workflow requires a new assessment, an updated notice, and an appropriate permission or other lawful basis before data is collected or shared. We may disclose information if legally required. Cloudflare sets the strictly necessary __cf_bm cookie to help identify automated traffic; the live response currently expires it after about 30 minutes. Google Forms may use its own necessary security or preference technologies under Google's controls. Those Google Forms technologies are separate from the measurement choices on this website.

Google's role depends on the processing and applicable product terms. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services and its Privacy Policy.

05

Optional measurement and browser storage

We use Basic Consent Mode. Before you choose, and after you reject all optional measurement, this website does not load the Google tag or send an optional measurement request to Google. Website analytics may be allowed without Google Ads measurement. Google Ads measurement requires website analytics because the approved survey-link event is collected through Google Analytics. Personalised advertising, remarketing, Google Signals, enhanced conversions, customer matching, User-ID, and Form-response imports remain disabled.

This is a bounded measurement window for the existing OM-01 research cohort. It ends automatically when the Form closes on 8 September 2026 at 23:59 GMT+2. After that time, the website does not load the Google tag and removes accessible measurement storage when the page is next visited. Any later UK measurement wave requires a new privacy and UK-representative assessment before activation.

TechnologyPurposeDuration and control
__cf_bm cookieCloudflare bot-management security needed to deliver and protect the page.About 30 minutes; not controlled by optional measurement choices.
uk_pet_research_measurement_consent local storageRemembers the selected analytics and Ads-measurement choices, decision time, and notice version.Until the 8 September 2026 measurement close, and never more than 90 days; used only to remember the choice.
_ga and _ga_* cookiesDistinguish pseudonymous browsers for allowed website analytics.Only after analytics consent; configured for up to 90 days but measurement ends on 8 September 2026, with accessible storage removed after withdrawal or on the next post-close visit.
_gcl_*, _gac_*, and _gcl_lsRetain ad-click information for allowed Google Ads survey-link attribution.Only after Ads-measurement consent; relevant cookies are limited to 90 days but measurement ends on 8 September 2026, with accessible storage removed after withdrawal or on the next post-close visit.

Select the persistent Measurement choices button on any page to review, reject, or change either purpose. Reducing a choice sends a denial update where the tag is loaded, removes accessible relevant storage, and reloads without the disabled measurement. Withdrawal stops future collection but cannot undo earlier lawful processing or remove figures already included in aggregate reports.

Retention and international transfers

  • Within 90 days after submission, identifiable survey responses and optional contact details are deleted from our active research systems or irreversibly anonymised.
  • Residual copies may remain in provider backups until deleted under the provider's documented retention cycle.
  • A minimal privacy-request record may be kept for up to 12 months after the request is completed, unless law requires longer.
  • Irreversibly anonymised findings may be kept because they can no longer be linked to you.
  • Provider security logs follow the providers' own retention terms; we do not receive a user-level copy of those logs.
  • Google Analytics user- and event-level retention is configured to two months. Standard aggregate reports may remain after that period.
  • Google Ads reporting availability follows Google's published periods; we do not export user-level measurement data.

Providers and their subprocessors may process data outside the EEA or UK. Their applicable terms describe safeguards such as adequacy arrangements and Standard Contractual Clauses where required. See the Google Workspace Data Processing Addendum, Google Workspace subprocessor list, and ChatGPT Sites Data Processing Addendum, Google Analytics retention controls, and Google Ads transfer information.

Optional measurement consent is separate from research-contact consent. Use Measurement choiceson this website to withdraw analytics or Google Ads measurement for future visits on that browser and device.
